ABOUT

With over 20 years of industry experience, Claudiu Gudas is an expert in structural strength analysis. Since 1986, Claudiu has consulted on a number of high-profile projects across a range of private sectors and government departments.

After graduating, Claudiu’s first project was designing and developing the IAR AG-6 aircraft—a speciality agricultural bi-plane for spraying, dusting or seeding agricultural material. He was a key member of the team, working on this project from its very beginning, right through to the development of the flying prototype. As a young structural analyst, this project shaped his career significantly.

Claudiu was integral in the implementation of Australian made sound enclosures and base frames for the Anzac Frigates, a class of 10 war ships—8 operated by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), and 2 by the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN). The sound enclosures and base frames were required to meet strict criteria for strength during underwater explosions and for noise signatures.

Claudiu has worked on aircraft modifications for the Royal Flying Doctors, NSW Police, Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) Australia, Australian Army and Australian Airforce. He was also instrumental in writing new software programs for the analysis of the JSF F-35 aircraft components, and also analysed part and assemblies of Boeing Aircrafts 777F and 747-8.

Claudiu is highly respected in the structural strength analysis field, and has written several technical articles for international speciality publications.
